There have been many attempts to remove tattoos over the years but it is only now with the use of Q-Switched lasers that we can see effective treatment. The Revlite laser that we use at Lookfresh Cosmetic Medicine is one of the most advanced in laser tattoo removal and has been known as the Gold Standard.
The Revlite can significantly lighten or remove a wide variety of tattoo inks.
Laser Tattoo Removal – How Does It Work?
A laser is a device which is designed to produce one or more wavelengths of light. Tattoo ink is removed by using this specific wavelength of light which can pass into the skin, but is absorbed by the ink. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles which can then be removed by the body’s natural filtering systems while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
Laser tattoo removal requires a series of treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart or longer. The amount of treatments will vary from person to person. On average professional tattoos require 6-8 treatments while amateur require 4-5 treatments. (You will notice considerable fading even after one treatment).
Frequently Asked Questions
Can most Tattoos be removed?
We are able to remove most tattoos. Black and red inks are the easiest to remove. Blues and greens are more stubborn to remove and may need additional treatments to produce significant fading.
What does it feel like?
The laser emits light in very short pulses. The impact from these pulses is similar to the snap of a small rubber band on the skin. We recommend anaesthetic cream, which makes the treatment more comfortable.

Why Choose Us?
Our treating doctor, Dr Tom Parmakellis started removing tattoos in the first laser tattoo removal clinic in Bondi Junction in 1991.
He has been performing laser tattoo removal longer than any other medical doctor in Australia. Today you will see all sorts of people removing tattoos including tattoo parlours, beauty salons, hairdressing salons, corporate franchise clinics etc. Many of these “establishments” do not employ medical personnel to perform or oversee these treatments. Laser tattoo removal is fraught with dangers and there is risk of scarring and pigmentation complications especially in untrained hands.
In our clinic we guarantee you the utmost professionalism and safe laser tattoo removal procedures under the guise of arguably Australia’s most experienced laser tattoo removal doctor.
