How anti-wrinkle injections work
Anti-wrinkle Injections (also referred to as Wrinkle Relaxers) involve the use of a natural, purified protein that has been diluted many times and works by blocking the chemical signal that the brain sends to the muscle telling it to contract.
When injected into the targeted areas in small doses, the purified protein relaxes the muscle, softening the visible lines on the face. The treatment only affects the movement of muscles beneath where it is injected. Surrounding muscles of the face will continue to move as normal.
After around 3-4 months (depending on the individual), the body will have broken down the protein, at which time patients are ready for their maintenance treatment.
Anti-wrinkle injection treatment is effective, relatively affordable and convenient, with no downtime. However, there are some side effects associated with poorly performed procedures so it is important to choose an experienced practitioner.
