Exilis Elite Stubborn Fat Melting and Body Contouring
Fat plays an important role in many of the processes our bodies go through each and every day. Fat cells are critical for survival and help assist the body’s “store and management” energy system. However, in abundance fat can lead to obesity problems and in healthy people fat can also deposit in particular areas proving hard to remove or shrink, even with exercise.
What is fat?
Adipose tissue is composed of large globular cells called adipocytes, which store fat in the human body. Adipose tissue and this fat form a layer of thermal insulation beneath the skin, but its main role is to provide a metabolic or energy reserve. When the body is facing high-energy demands (intense muscular exercise, cold climate), fats will be mobilized. The number of fat cells you have is determined predominately in the womb and in your preadolescence years. Over eating will lead to the fat cells increasing in size though they don’t multiply. The number of fat cells in your body remains fairly constant throughout your life.
What causes fat to accumulate in some areas of the body more then others?
The abnormally high development of adipocytes in some parts of the human body is commonly known as ‘stubborn fat’. These bulges can appear in spite of a normal healthy weight and even persist after weight loss. These types of fatty deposits generally occur because of a genetic or gender predisposition, though hormonal influences, medications, eating and exercise habits and other environmental factors can also play a role.
Fat deposits are generally located in the abdomen and flanks, shoulders, hips, and buttocks. They manifest themselves, for example, as a double chin, love handles or saddlebags.
What treatment options are available for the removal of stubborn fat?
Diet and exercise obviously play a very important role in the maintenance of your ideal size and weight. Unfortunately with exercise though, there is no way to target weight loss in one specific area of the body. Our clinic offers a revolutionary way to target these stubborn areas, reducing circumference of up to 10cm in selected patients.
